Western Reserve Chronicle, Warren, OH, October 19, 1864

Colored Soldiers.
In a late engagement near Petersburg, in which colored troops participated, Charles Titus was killed, and James Bronson severely wounded – reported fatally. Both were colored men, and previous to enlisting in the army, lived in this place.
